Athens
Adez is considered similar to the Greek city-state Athens for numerous reasons. First of all, the women has less rights than the men did. The women were not allowed to trade, vote, fish, or hunt. Their main priorities were to stay at home and take care of the children, cook, and clean. Secondly, both of these city-states names came from Greek gods. Athens came from the name Athena, the goddess of wisdom, and Adez from Hades, the god of death and the underworld. Also, both city-states were based upon trading, fishing, and a little hunting to obtain their food and supplies. Location wise, the two city-states were located near the water, in order to depend on fishing and navel-based trading. Furthermore, even though Adez and Athens did have some differences, like the type of government, they both strongly worshiped and believed in the power of certain gods, such as Zues and Poseidon, and overall were similar city-states.
