Regionalism in the city-state, Adez, was very complex. They were rivals with Crete because Crete was a trading and fishing community like Adez, so they both fought for competition. However, the people of Adez were allies with Thebes, since Thebes continued to trade for their supplies. Adez would trade with most Greek city-states, and even parts of Asia Minor, to receive a wide varity of merchandise like food and materials, but they didn't have contact with neighboring countries such as Italy. As for nationalism, Adez would not attacked unless ambushed. If they were attacked, the mountains would help to see oncoming ships. Like most Greek city-states, Adez felt a sense of loyalty to Greece, and saw it as superior to all other countries. Adez related to other city-states and countries in a quite special way.
